We exist to help people, communities and government prepare for and recover from emergencies as quickly as possible.
Our inspiration is the ‘Blitz Spirit’ born in World War II, engrained in British culture ever since and most recently demonstrated in the clear-up after the 2011 London Riots.
This spirit is thinking ahead to make ourselves ready for what might hit us. It is the willingness for everyone to look after others as well as themselves. It is ‘making do’ with what we have got, doing the best we can in the circumstances, helping our neighbours and anyone in need, getting our communities back to ‘normal life’ as soon as possible, with each one of us ‘doing our bit’. It is a spirit of stoic courage and endurance; a sense of ‘community’ and genuine public service.
We are a non-profit organisation serving wholly the public sector. We seek to encourage and facilitate opportunities for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), collective purchasing, mutual aid, self-help and volunteering in emergencies.
Together we are stronger.
